To play casino craps, a player first needs to understand the roles of the table personnel and their positions. The most common table personnel include the boxperson, dealers at 2nd and 3rd base, and the stickperson. The boxperson is in charge of the table and handles disputes, while dealers manage players’ bets on their respective sides. The stickperson moves the dice with a stick. Players can be “straight out” at the middle end of the table.

The game’s objective is for the shooter to roll a specific number (point) with two dice and then roll that same number again before rolling a seven. When a point is established, players can place various bets such as pass line, don’t pass line, come bets, don’t come bets, place bets, field bets, or proposition bets.

Pass line bet: Players wager that a 7 or 11 will roll on the first throw (come out roll), or lose if 2, 3, or 12 (craps) rolls instead. If any other number becomes the point, players must roll that number again before a seven to win
